In the latest round of the Cork Inter-Town Litter Challenge, Ballincollig scored an impressive 800.6 marks out of a possible 1,000. However, the judges scores reveal that the Town Centre area has plenty of room for improvement.

The results from the Main Street ( Kirby’s Shoe Shop to Lennox’s ) and Blackadders Lane areas were particularly disappointing, with just 60.4 and 66 marks scored respectively. Cigarette butts and items of general litter were cited as considerable problems in both areas.

In light of the Town Centre’s under-par performance, Ballincollig Tidy Towns is calling on Residents and Business Owners to rally together to restore pride to the area ahead of the next round of the Challenge.
