OLD FORT ROAD
Tuesday morning Anthony and Adrian were busy trimming the beautiful Beech Hedge on the Old Fort Road. They filled ten one-ton bags of cuttings.
These were all taken to the Allotment for recycling.

LITTER PICK
On Sunday morning eighteen Volunteers gathered for the Sunday Litter Pick. It was a lovely morning and everyone worked hard for the hour. Because of the large group all the usual areas were covered.
During the week several Volunteers carried out Litter Picks in Ballincollig.
The total amounts collected between Sunday’s Litter Pick and those carried out during the week were –
Nineteen bags of General Litter;
Two bags of Glass;
One bag of Cans and
One bag of Plastic.
The Glass, Cans and Plastic were all taken to be recycled.
Martin Power was busy cleaning the kerbs in Pine Walk and we collected three bags from him as a result of this work.
EDGING

TUESDAY WORK NIGHT
Ten Volunteers worked on the Footpath from Gaelscoil Ui Riordain to Limeworth on Tuesday Night to try and finish off the work started two weeks ago.
They worked flat out and filled five one-ton bags with Green Waste.
However, the darkness and rain got the better of them and they had to abandon the work.

ALWAYS BUSY
Adrian finished work on the Westgate Steps this week.
He emptied the Cig/Gum Bins and also helped with the hedge cutting on the Old Fort Road.
John spent some of his time working on Barry’s Road.
He helped with the work on the Old Fort Road and also worked at the Allotment.
Thursday morning’s work schedule was interrupted by the much-needed rain.
Between the showers, John and Adrian managed to do some weeding at the Allotment.
A SENSE OF PRIDE
This week Ballincollig Tidy Towns collected Green Waste from the following Estates –
Rosewood, Inniscarra View and Carrigdene.
We appreciate the continued hard work of the Residents in maintaining their Estates.
THURSDAY WORK NIGHT WASHOUT
Our Volunteers gathered at the bank near Gaelscoil Ui Riordain for the Thursday Work Night and the watering crew also gathered for what was looking to be a productive night’s work, when the heavens opened.
After a while everyone was soaked so they decided to abandon work for the night.

GREEN WASTE COLLECTION
Yet another load of Green Waste was collected from the Allotment this week in association with Cork City Council.
