TUESDAY WORK NIGHT
Ballincollig Tidy Towns had 15 Volunteers out for the Tuesday Work Night. The majority worked at the Allotment spreading a lorry load of bark mulch that was delivered. Everyone involved worked tirelessly and the non-stop convoy of wheelbarrows shifted the entire lot in an hour.
Two other Volunteers cleaned the kerbs in the car park as the cars moved away. The remainder were litter picking and cleaning out a flower bed in the Town Centre.
We were thrilled with the amount of work we got through in such a short space of time.

LITTER PICK
On a beautiful sunny Sunday morning there were 15 Volunteers out for the weekly litter pick. Some took advantage of the lovely weather and came out early to do their bit.
During the week several of our Volunteers were also out litter picking.
We yielded 2 bags of Cans and 1 crate of Glass from the total litter collected.
There were also 2 Volunteers working at the Allotment.
Sadly, for the second week we have encountered drug paraphernalia which is dangerous not only for our Volunteers but for the public also. Because of this Ballincollig Tidy Towns has taken possession of two Sharps Bins.
These and any further findings will be disposed of in the proper manner.

SOME OF THE WEEK’S WORK
Tony and Ger were very busy during the week. They filled and fed all the reservoirs in the planters at Eastgate and the tiered planters on Main Street. 1,000 litres of water were used.
Some great work was done on the Carrignarra Road. It’s the small things that make such a difference.

THURSDAY WORK NIGHT
Six Volunteers tackled the lane that runs from behind Westgate Foundation to Community Drive.
Their work during the hour made a huge difference. We will return another night to complete this project.

NEW VOLUNTEERS
Ballincollig Tidy Towns is seeking new Volunteers.
Come join us any Sunday morning at 11am. We gather at the SuperValu car park for the weekly litter pick.
Anyone who has an hour free on a Tuesday and/or Thursday at 7pm please come join us for the work night. We meet at outside AIB on Main Street. We tackle many projects and would welcome your help.
