Back to Normal!!
On Sunday morning we were back to normal and 24 volunteers were out for our Weekly Litter Pick.
Pat collected 11 bags of litter c plus three bags of litter and 1 bag of glass from litter picks during the last week 2 weeks.
There was a full house at The Plaza for the cuppa and chat following the litter pick.
Great to be back to normal.
Transition Year Students at Work
On Sunday morning 10 TY Students under the guidance and support of Denis Cleaned the much used footpath from Community drive to Westgate. They did a great job and collected six bags of leaves and weeds. The area looked much better and was safer underfoot.

NO RESPECT!!
Last Sunday morning while meeting at Quish’s Carpark West Village we noticed a bag on the footpath near the chemist. We went to pick it up and when we did it was full of domestic waste. The bag fell apart and two of our volunteers had to pick it up.
Whoever was responsible clearly has no respect for our community and for our volunteers.
There are no words except Shame on you!!

Busy Tuesday
First thing Tuesday morning, Sunday and Keith sorted four bags of the seven remaining of litter from Sunday’s litter pick.
Jimmy Collected 3 bags of branches as a result of the hard work of the Residents from Manor Hill.
The lads then proceeded to remove leaves from the Westcliff raised flowerbed and to clean the leaves and weeds from the footpath kerbside. Over 3.5 hours they filled 10 tonne bags of leaves and weeds. A great mornings work by the lads.

Special Date for Your Diary
Thursday 20th February

Wednesday Works
We had a full crew out on Wednesday. Sunday and Keith
segregated the litter bags from the weekend while Ger H and Tom brought the trailer load of 10 x Ton bags as well as bags of leaves from the allotment for recycling.
The crew then cleaned both the footpath and cycle track heading down to Innismore from the White Horse turn off.
They finished off by segregating the bottle trays/ boxes in the allotment. They then brought one tray of brown and green glass as well as 2 trays of clear glass for recycling.

The Thursday Team
There was a big Team out on Thursday morning. They were busy removing Tree Debris following the recent storm. They removed 8 tonne bags of from Coolroe Meadows by the full team including great help from Natalie. The photos show the big difference that their work made.
They then went on to another project covered elsewhere in the newsletter.

Who? The Crows
On Wednesday evening around 5pm one of our Committee took photos of the Parklet on Main Street and the amazing colours that were on display. Some of our volunteers had done a fantastic job putting in additional flowers to enhance the Parklet even more. Early on Thursday we received photos of the damage carried out in the Parklet overnight. Initially we thought some mindless people pulled out a large number of the plants and discarded them. But following some investigations we identified that this mindless activity was carried by the local crows!!!! We have learned over the years not to jump to conclusions and this was such a case. Nature being nature!!
Not to be deterred our Thursday Crew replaced the plants and cleaned around the Parklet.

First Aid Training
On Saturday we held a First Aid Course for our Volunteers in the Crann Centre (by kind permission). The course was delivered by Keith Warren of Rhythm First Aid and Safety Training. Keith delivered a first class course to our volunteers. He made the course very interesting, informative and most of all relevant. Our volunteers really enjoyed the course. Thank you to The Crann Centre for the use of their magnificent facilities and to Keith for providing the course.

INCONSIDERATE PEOPLE!!
Last Saturday once again our gate to our HQ was once again obstructed by inconsiderate people despite signage on the gate about keeping the gate clear and a vehicle inside the gate
There is no excuse for this behaviour.
