Sunday Morning Litter Pick
On Sunday Morning we had 28 volunteers out for our Weekly Litter Pick Pat did his rounds and collected 12 bags of litter and 1 bag of glass. This was inclusive of what our volunteers collected during the week. The majority adjourned to The Plaza for a cuppa and the all important chat.
All Ireland Weekend
Sport has a special place in BTT especially during the GAA Season. At the cuppa in The Plaza or on our Worknights the banter is always lively given the numbers of counties that are represented within our volunteers.
This Sunday will be a special day for Cork and Clare as they go for All Ireland Glory
We wish both teams the very best of luck!
Tuesday Worknight
Our Team headed to the Back Road on Tuesday. Diarmuid went well ahead with the edging machine and he was followed by a busy bunch removing the sods while the next group bagged it and finally we collected everything and tidied up. Diarmuid went ahead with the machine and cut the other side in preparation for Thursday night’s Worknight. The difference was very noticeable.
A word of thanks to the people who thanked and praised the work we were doing.
Thursday Worknight
The Team returned to the Killumney Road to continue the edging.
Because of our preparatory work on Tuesday night everything was done much faster. The results again were very noticeable.
Well done to everyone involved.
Wednesday Works
Keith, Sunday and Ger cleaned the path edges at top of Hazel Grove. Also the base of the wall from Hazel Grove to Oaklands. Brought the bags to be recycled.
Edging making a big Difference
Our edging programme which has been ongoing for a number of years. We invested in 2 edging machines and it has paid dividends. There is some hard work involved but it is worth it and we agree that it is much better than spraying and having lots of unsightly yellow edges.
Wet Thursday
As it was raining on Thursday morning Keith & Sunday took the opportunity to take the vapes apart. When it dried the lads and Ger went to Coolroe Meadows to remove the grass sods from one section that wasn’t finished and also removed the suckers from the rest of the trees.
A very productive morning.
More transformations
4 more utility boxes have been transformed this week.
Kevin’s work has certainly brightened these boxes and the surrounding areas.
Good news Travels!!
Lovely to see a piece in the Southern Star this week on one of our projects namely the Parklet.
Tuesday morning
On Tuesday Jimmy, Tom, Sunday and Keith were very busy. They started by triming back protruding weeds on the footpath in Innishmore Lawn.
The before and after photos show the difference and how much better it is for pedestrians.
Making a Difference
The Tuesday Team continued their work by cleaning the base of the wall outside Quish’s SuperValu in the West Village.
During their morning they removed and collected 1 ton bag of weeds and briars and 2 plastic bags of weeds and grit
Watch this Space!!!
On the West side of the Village there is a house which needs a bit of a clean up and we are working with the owner to try and assist so watch for the updates.
