Weekly Litter Pick
On Sunday morning we had 26 volunteers plus 3 Transition Year Students for our Weekly Litter Pick. Denis and his team of TYs continued with adding compost to the orchards at Westgate Foundation.
We collected 8 bags of litter which will be segregated.
A very positive result is becoming apparent to our volunteers as they carry out our Litter Picks and that is the huge reduction in the number of empty plastic bottles and cans we are collecting since the Return It Campaign Started.

Estate Residents making a Difference
This week two Residents Groups were in touch with us following work by residents in their areas. Maglin Estate done a clean up at weekend. We collected bags from them as a result of their efforts Alysbury Estate did a big clean up on Friday night and we collected nine clear plastic bags of hedge clippings.
Sunflowers
This week the weather was a little kinder to us and we managed to plant out our Sunflowers in the allotment. Hope later this year we will have a great show from these magnificent flowers.

Cranford Pines
On Tuesday Vince and the lads did great job edging at the entrance to Cranford Pines. The difference was very noticeable and made so much easier by our edging machine. They also brought some of our compost to put around the nameplate so the residents to plant flowers in the coming weeks.

Algae Removal
We recently did a test on an area on removing algae with an environmentally friendly product and we are extremely pleased with the results as shown in the photo.
