This morning the SuperValu Tidy Towns awards were presented to a gathering in Croke Park.
We certainly did ourselves proud. Ballincollig won another Gold Medal (the 11th) . But that was not all. Ballincollig won IRELAND’S TIDIEST LARGE URBAN CENTRE for 2023 and also THE COUNTY AWARD FOR CORK SOUTH WEST.
We improved in each of the 8 categories. What an amazing achievement. A testament to the enormous efforts of our Volunteers and the staff of Cork City Council and several other groups.
Out of 887 entries from around Ireland, Ballincollig is in the top 3. Absolutely wonderful for the entire community.
Huge Congratulations to Abbeyleix in Co. Laois who are this year’s overall winners
Congratulations also to Killarney, Co. Kerry who were winners of Ireland’s Tidiest Large Town.
