There is a wonderful extension in progress in the Regional Park.
Up until very recently once you came to the gate at the Eastern end of the Regional Park that was where the end..
The path has now been extended and runs through what was part of the Heritage Centre. It then runs alongside the River Lee and you pass a number of large millstones that were used in the manufacture of Gun Powder when the Mill was in full production.
The walk finally weaves its way along to Short Range and on to the path at Fionn Laoi Estate
This extension is a very welcome addition.
