PLEASE SUPPORT BALLINCOLLIG TIDY TOWNS WITH ITS SPRAY FREE INITIATIVE FOR BALLINCOLLIG

Ballincollig Tidy Towns launched its campaign to make Ballincollig a Spray Free town in March 2020. A meeting was held introducing this initiative to the public. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus and total lockdown for most of the past year, the plans that were being put in place were stalled.
Despite this, BTT has been pushing ahead and continues to ask Residents Associations to support the Spray Free Initiative.
Contractors who carry out work in the various Estates, need to be informed of this Spray Free Initiative.
Driving from the Greenfields Roundabout through Greenfields and onto Coolroe Meadows it is sadly noticeable that spraying has been carried out on the verges.
The grass wasn’t impeding the footpath nor was it growing out onto the road so this was completely unnecessary. This is so disappointing to see. Hopefully it won’t happen again.
Although there was a small section sprayed at Coolroe Meadows, the remainder was not and it was looking healthy and green.
It was good to see that the Residents Association was making the effort to take this Initiative on board and work towards a better Ballincollig.
