SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs)
In September 2015, one hundred and ninety-five UN Member States adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development titled “Transforming our World”. The seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the centrepiece of the 2030 Agenda. They reflect Economic, Social and Environmental dimensions of sustainable development.
The Agenda is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. It seeks to strengthen universal peace in larger freedom. It recognizes that eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty, is the greatest global challenge and an indispensable requirement for sustainable development.
