Fr Sexton Park is approximately 67 years old. Located at the Eastgate, it is a nice small estate of 12 homes. Until recently it was home to the Oldest man in Ballincollig. The L Shaped estate is set back from the Main Road and has a large green with mature trees. The residents maintain the green area and have great pride in their estate.
In recent weeks, in association with the residents, we developed a new flower bed which will be pollinator friendly and the area will be added to Ballincollig’s Pollinator Corridor
The new flower bed has a large free standing stone in the centre which was kindly given to us by Finbarr O’Neill, Sand and Gravel.
Given that Ballincollig became part of Cork City on the day this stone was put in place, it has been unanimously agreed this stone should be called the ‘Transition Stone’, symbolising the move.
