Wash Down Saturday a Great Success despite Storm Hannah!!
Last Saturday, despite the stormy weather of the night before, several Volunteers came out to support Ballincollig Tidy Town rolling out their first Wash Down Saturday. Many people took to the streets and washed and cleaned signs, benches, bins etc.
What amazing results. We were delighted with the work that was done during the few hours. Several businesses washed their premises down prior to the day..Desmonds Menswear and Bank of Ireland postponed their Wash Down until this week and O’Donovan Agri. had to postpone taking part due to emergency works but hope to be able to contribute in the coming weeks. Several residents washed down signs and walls in their estates on the previous weekend.
Groups, clubs and schools have agreed that they will do wash downs in the coming weeks as part of the Wash Down Saturday.
Sincere thanks to Oran O’Connell of Oran’s Home Maintenance who gave up his time and equipment to assist in washing down signs and recycling bins etc. Also to the many Volunteers who took the time to help thank you all so much. Not forgetting to say a very big thank you to residents who are always willing to partake in whatever ideas BTT has for them to make the estates in which they live look even better.
Wash Down Saturday will be rolled out again by Ballincollig Tidy Towns in July. Your continued support will of course be welcomed.
